Beneath a rare blue moon, a mother mouse shelters her little one as they look out over a quiet meadow together.
This painting was originally created for Baby Monte, who has spent the first two and a half years of his life fighting while waiting for a heart transplant. The blue moon - two full moons appearing within a single month - was chosen as a symbol of hope, new beginnings, and the possibility of something extraordinary after a long journey.
At the heart of the painting is also a mother’s strength. Through every uncertainty, Monte’s mother has been his shelter: holding him close, loving him fiercely, and helping carry him through a fight no child should have to face alone.
